The State of Nevada retains a private contractor to conduct sales of state surplus personal property to the general public. Sales occur throughout the year mainly in the Reno and Las Vegas Areas.

Our office serves as the primary point of contact for all auction-related questions, processing, and requirements. Auction paperwork is handled through both the northern and southern warehouse.

Auction FAQ's


What paperwork do I need to fill out?

Vehicle/Equipment Turn-In Document  is needed for vehicles & special equipment and a property dispostion requestfor other items.

Who must sign the VTID/PDR?
Two signatures are required from the agency, one of which must be from the Agency Approval Authority as determined by the agency.

Who must sign the title?
Determined by the agency. For assistance on how the title must be signed, please contact Surplus Program’s Staff.

How do auction items get removed from the inventory?
Once the sale is completed, agencies will be notified of the auction results, and Surplus will then remove the items from inventory.

When can I cancel the insurance on a vehicle?

Once the sale is complete.

When will funds be distributed to the agency after a sale? After results are finalized, Surplus will forward the disbursement information to The Department of Administration ASD for distribution.
